Leora Robinson was born February 13, 1929 in Granite, Oklahoma. She passed away September 3, 2015 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 86 years6 months and 20 days.
Leora grew up in the Granite, Lone Wolf and
Willow communities. Her mother passed away when she was 9 and Leora became
the woman of the house at a young age. She was married to Billy Robinson at
Wheeler, TX in February of 1948 and they lived in the Retrop and Highway
communities where they farmed and ranched. She also took in work
as a seamstress and was employed at Khourie's in Elk City and the Unique
Boutique in Sayre. Billy passed away in 1988 and she remained in Retrop
until moving to Sayre in 2004. Leora loved tending to her flowers and garden
as well as traveling with Billy to different ranches and racetracks in New
Mexico. She was a people person and enjoyed visiting with her friends and
spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
The family requests memorial donations be made to the Sayre Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
She survived by her 2
sons, Wayne Robinson and wife, Barbi, Sayre, OK and Scott Robinson and wife,
Ann, Mangum, OK; 3 grandchildren, Justin Robinson and wife, Allison, Elk
City, OK, Keri Jones and husband, Justin, Yukon, OK and Holly Hamon and
husband, Dirk, Mangum, OK; 6 great grandchildren, Trooper Jones, Scout
Jones, Benjamin Robinson, Makayla Hamon, Jaylin Hamon, Derek Hamon, many
nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held September 8, 2015 at 10:30 am at Rose Chapel
officiated by Gary Vitosky. Burial will be at Retrop Cemetery under the
direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Condolences can be made online at
