Stella Belle Howe Wright, a longtime Cushing resident and former employee of the Cushing Regional Hospital, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 in the Linwood Village Nursing Home in Cushing at the age of 89 years.

The daughter of the late Fred Carl Howe and Ida May (Coen) Howe, Stella was born on February 7, 1919 in Shamrock, OK where she was reared and educated.

She was united in marriage to Irvin Wright on September 26, 1936 in Cushing. Stella and Irvin made their home in Cushing where they both worked for the Cushing Regional Hospital. Stella had been a longtime member of the Oak Street Baptist Church and in her spare time she enjoyed quilting and crocheting.

Survivors include one son, Tommy Wright and his wife Jackie of Cushing; two daughters, Joyce Willard of Cushing and Patricia Dauman of Shawnee; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, her husband Irvin, two daughters Marilyn and Carolyn Wright, one son, Harvey Wright, one granddaughter, Vickie Carol Slater, one son-in-law, Charles Willard, four brothers, and three sisters preceded Stella in death.

Funeral services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 12, 2008 in the Oak Street Baptist Church in Cushing with Reverend Delbert Henshaw officiating.
