Wendell 'Bruce' Tiner was born on July 20, 1953, in Cushing, Oklahoma. He moved to Wasco with his parents, Edgar and Althea Tiner as a child.

He attended Wasco Elementary Schools and graduated from Wasco Union High School with the Class of 1971. While in high school he was a member of FFA and participated in track and band. He attended Bakersfield College and joined his father operating the family farm that he had worked on since he was a boy. He enjoyed raising animals such as, Black Angus, sheep and chickens.

He married Irma Berumen on January 20, 1973 and they continued to make their home in Wasco until they moved to Bakersfleid in 1989.

Bruce operated several businesses including R & H Trim Shop, Fashion Front and Tiner & Son Gardening.

He was a member of the Wasco Active 20/30 Club and served as a board member of the Wasco Elementary School District. He loved music and played the guitar, mandolin and piano.

He was also an avid outdoorsman, camping, hunting and deep-sea fishing out of Morro Bay.

He enjoyed chili cook-offs and was a member of the 'Valley Fever Chili' team. He volunteered for his son's cross-country and track meets, traveling to all the meets and summer camps.

Bruce is survived by his loving and caring wife of 33 years, Irma Tiner, son, Jeremy Tiner; daughter, Wendy Green and husband, Aaron and their son, Carson. He is also survived by his birth mother, Edith; and brothers, John, Kenneth, Tom and Ralph whom he had recently established a relationship. He was always there for his family and friends and his family and friends were always there for him.

Service will be held Saturday, February 4th, at 11:00 a.m., at Peters Funeral Home in Wasco, followed by interment at Wasco Memorial Park.

Visitation begins Friday, February 3rd, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
