Marilyn left this earth to be with The Lord on September 2, 2003.
She was born in Ripley, Oklahoma, on March 22, 1935, to Ray and Wilma Lamb. Moving to Bakersfield, California in 1945 with her parents and four siblings.
She attended Beardsley Elementary School and Bakersfield High School. It was there, at BHS, that she met her beloved husband, Ray Heath, her first, last, and forever love.
Marilyn was the typical homemaker, making all feel welcome and at home whenever they came to her house for a visit. Marilyn also worked outside the home, working in retail sales for more than 30 years, half of those years for Thrifty Drug Stores.
She was a caring and compassionate friend to all those she met and was always willing to give to those less fortunate than she. She will be missed by all who loved her but only with a gladness of heart, because that's the way Marilyn would have wanted her passing to be. Marilyn was a blessing in our lives.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, eldest sister, Pauline and nephew, Michael.
She is survived by her sister, Reva and husband, Bob Bauerline of McMinnville, Oregon; her brother, Don Lamb and wife, Kim of Winterhaven, Arizona; her sister, Carolyn and husband, Mike Yachak of Bakersfield; and sister, Brenda and husband, Perry Archer of Bakersfield. Marilyn also left behind her name nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly, as well as many beloved cousins and friends.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday, September 7, 2003, at Bakersfield Family Funeral Directors, located at 701 34th St.
Graveside services will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery (River Blvd.), September 8, 10:00 a.m.
