Donald Ray Bowen, Sr. 66, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at his home in Oklahoma City. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17 from 9a.m. to 5p.m., Saturday, November 18, from 9a.m. to 1p.m. and on Sunday from 1-8p.m. with family greeting guests from 6-8 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 2:00p.m. at Palmer Marler Funeral Home with interment following at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.
Donald was born on January 17, 1951 at the State University Hospital in Oklahoma City to Wesley Sims, Jr. and Carol Ross. Don grew up in Stillwater, Oklahoma and graduated from Stillwater High School in 1969.
He loved fishing, OSU Football, and going to garage sales. His greatest love was his children and his grandchildren. Donald’s favorite place to eat was Western Sizzlin Steakhouse. He had a lot of fishing stories that everyone enjoyed. He loved to have plants to pass the time. Donald was a very peaceful man.
Donald Ray is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Ross and his father Wesley E. Sims, Jr.
He is survived by his children Don A. Bowen, Jr. and Adina R. Bowen; his grandchildren, Austin D. Bowen, Taylor D. Snell, Tristan J. Duvall, Aaliyah N. Bowen, Kailee D. Bowen, Adina R. Bowen and Taytum J. Bowen. He is also survived by his siblings; Charlotte A. Davis, Shirley J. Bowens, Diedra L. Knox, Edward W. Sims and Gregory Shinault- Sims.
Donald will be deeply missed however Never Forgotten by all who knew and loved him.
