Henry Edward "Ed" Chambers
December 29, 1907 ~ October 23, 2000


Henry Edward Chambers, 92, Enid, had worked for 37 years as a county agent through the OSU Extension Service and then for many years as a district agent.

He died Monday, Oct. 23, 2000, at Greenbrier Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be Friday at 11 a.m., in Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, John Crawford, minister of First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Services are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home of Enid.

Chambers was born Dec. 29, 1907, in El Paso, Texas, to Charles and Etta Maxson

Chambers. He later moved to Stillwater where he graduated from High School in 1927. Chambers married Geraldine Ray in Stillwater in 1934.

He received his master's degree from OSU in 1960.

After retirement in 1971 in Enid he served on the O.T. Autry Area Vo-Tech Board for 15 years.

He was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and a member of the Men's Sunday School Class. He was a member of Enid Noon Lion's Club.

Survivors include one son, Boyd Chambers of Enid; a daughter, Patricia and husband Fred Borjes of Wilmington, Del.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made in his memory to the First Presbyterian Church with Brown Funeral Home serving as custodian of the fund.

Geraldine [Ray] Chambers
July 25, 1914 - January 23, 1984


he funeral for Mrs. Ed [Geraldine] Chambers, 69, 3301 Mayberry, who died Monday morning, January 23, 1984, after a long illness, will be at 1:30 PM Thursday in Brown Funeral Home Chapel. Doctor Leslie G. Everitt and Doctor Robert Young will officiate.

The casket will be open until service time and remain closed after the service.

Graveside services will be observed at 3:30 PM Thursday in Fairlawn Cemetery at Stillwater. Errol Hunter will officiate.

Mrs. Chambers was born July 25, 1914, in Stillwater to Burt and Betty Ray. She attended schools in that area and graduated from Stillwater high school. She then attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1934 with a bachelor of arts degree.

On July 3, 1934, she and Ed Chambers were married in Stillwater. They moved to Mangum, later returning to Stillwater where he was affiliated with the Oklahoma State University Extension Service.

The couple moved to Enid, July 1, 1968. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 3, 1984.

Mrs. Chambers was active in the Presbyterian Church and the Women's Association. She was also a longtime member of Chi Omega Sorority.

Survivors include her husband, Ed; one son, Boyd, Cushing; one daughter, Mrs. Fred [Patricia] Borjes, Wilmington, Delaware; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Memorials in her name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Building Fund, with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.

Boyd Chambers
October 14, 1936 - March 27, 2019


The services celebrating and honoring the life of Boyd Chambers, 82, of Enid will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday April 02, 2019 in the Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater, Oklahoma with Pastor Jenny Hardin of the Stillwater First Presbyterian Church officiating. Services and complete cremation care are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

He was born October 14, 1946 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Henry "Ed" and Geraldine "Rae" Chambers and passed from this life on March 27, 2019 in Enid, Oklahoma.

He was raised and educated in Stillwater, graduating High School with the class of 1954. He then attended Oklahoma State University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Economics. He then returned to O.S.U. where he received two more Bachelor's Degrees in Education. He taught Math in Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and Oklahoma. In 1990 he retired to help take care of his father. He enjoyed reading, learning and the stock market.

He is survived by his sister, Patricia Borjes, of Glen Mills, PA. niece Gerri Gorlich and two nephews Rick and Sean Borjes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial in his name may be made to the Parkinson's Disease Association with Brown-Cummings Funeral serving as custodian of the funds.
