James “Jay” Sterling Atwell, Cushing resident, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at the age of 20 years.

The son of Mary Margaret Vaughan and James Hays, Jay was born on August 10, 1988 in Lawton, Oklahoma.

He was raised in Lawton and Cushing and attended Cushing High School.

Jay enjoyed working with his hands; whether it was working on cars, car stereos or putting things together.

Survivors include his mother, Mary Vaughan and Louis Jeske; his father, James Hays; one sister, Heather Atwell; two brothers, Cody Atwell and Kevin Vaughan; one aunt, Diana Clark and her husband David; one uncle, Mark Atwell and his wife Kelly and other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Monday, June 29, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. in the Fairlawn Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Clouse officiating.

Burial will follow in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Davis Funeral Home to defray funeral expenses.
