Larry Dale Hensley, age 60 of Hominy, Oklahoma passed away Sunday, August 3, 2014 at his home in Hominy. Larry was born April 22, 1954 to Billy Jack and Eunice Iveline (Jackson) Hensley at Wewoka, Oklahoma. Larry started to school in Great Bend, Kansas going through 2nd grade, and then they moved to Hominy in February of 1962. He graduated from HHS. Larry and Linda Sells were married on September 28, 1974 making their home in Hominy. In September 1980 Larry started his own business, Sooner Pride Services in the Oil/Gas Industry as a Perforating Engineer; he was also part-owner of Osage Wireline. Larry was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Homing teaching in Children's Church, he also served many years as Scout Master for Troop 3 with 12 kids earning their Eagle Scout Award; he enjoyed fishing and golfing when he was able.
Larry is survived by his wife Linda of the home, his mother- Eunice Hensley of Hominy; 2 sons: Joe Hensley and wife Cassie of Owasso, Oklahoma and Justin Hensley of Hominy; 2 grandchildren: Abby and Zeke Hensley of Owasso; a brother: Kent Hensley and wife Sara of Hominy; 2 nephews: Skyler and Seth Hensley of Hominy.
Larry is preceded in death by his father, Billy.
Funeral Services for Larry were held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church with Pastor Clifton Phelps officiating. Pianist was Beth Phelps; music selection was "I Can Only Imagine" sung by Kevin DeLong. Pall Bearers were: Danny Kantola, Terrance Bolt, Aaron Taylor, Brandon Hambright, Ted Brunt and Robert Wells.
Interment followed in the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery in Hominy, Oklahoma under the direction of Powell Funeral Home in Hominy, Oklahoma. www.powellfuneralservice.com.
