Rick Carver, age 59 of Washington, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 25, 2013. Robert Ricky Carver was born January 30, 1954 in Oklahoma City, OK, the oldest of 3 children born to Ralph Wayne Carver and Johnnie (Frankenberg) Carver. He was raised in Lindsay and attended Lindsay schools, graduating in 1972. From there, Rick was off to Oklahoma State University for a time before returning to Lindsay and joining his father in the family business at the Super C Mart in Pauls Valley. He later began working at the store in Davis and it was there he reunited with Marita Fay Jones. They fell in love and were married on July 12, 1980 in Davis. They made their home in Lindsay for a time. They then moved to Norman, and eventually settled in the Goldsby/ Washington area where together they raised their son, Colten. Rick was a hard worker and a great provider and he loved his work at the grocery stores. Rick also loved being outdoors on his ranch, tending to his cattle and running and breeding race horses. Rick greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing and never missed an opportunity to go to the horse races. He was very proud of his ponies. Rick was an avid gun collector, but of all his accomplishments and his possessions, he was most proud of his son, Colten. Rick was a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him!
He was preceded in death by: His parents, Ralph and Johnnie Carver.
Rick leaves behind: His wife, Marita of the home; His son, Colten of the home; His brother, Rod Carver and wife Toni of Norman; His sister, Kay Patino of Norman; Father & Mother-in-law, Royce Dale Jones and wife Juanita of Davis; Brother & Sister-in-law, Stan Jones and wife Daleen of Davis; Many nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Washington. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M. at the Green Hill Cemetery in Davis. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Washington First Baptist Church Youth Group @ 100 S Main, Washington, OK 73093.
