Gladys grew up in the Soper, Oklahoma area where she attended school. She was married to Edward Lee "Sonny" Haygood on November 14, 1953 in Mangum, Oklahoma. After their marriage they farmed and ranched in Greer County in the Jester and Plainview communities and continued until the early 90's when Sonny's health began to decline. Sonny passed away in 2006 and Gladys remained on the farm for a brief time before moving to Elk City. She was later married to Mac Wesley Aldridge on May 14, 2007 at Elk City, Oklahoma. They made their home in Elk City where they enjoyed spending time traveling, remodeling their home and spending time with their family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, son, Edwin
Lydell Haygood and brother, Delmar Roden.
She is survived by her husband, Mac, of the home; daughter, Teresa
Byerly and husband, Bruce, Elk City, OK; daughter-in-law, Kelly
McKaughan and husband, Cliff, Mustang, OK; grandson, Jed Schreck;
step son, Dale Aldridge and wife, Kathy, Carter, OK; step daughter,
Vickie Clagett, Elk City, OK; numerous step grand and great
grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, Laura Lee Roden, Amarillo, TX and
her daughters, Vanessa Pemberton and husband, Randy and Kim Roberts
and their families. She is also survived by a host of other
relatives and friends.
