Rose Ella Mae (Wellman) Alexander, 80 year old resident of Woodward, OK, passed from this life on February 21, 2018. Rose was born January 26, 1938 to Wilbur Dean and Dorthy Fern (Smith) Wellman in Woodward, OK.
She attended school in Woodward, OK and Booker, TX, graduating in 1956 from Booker, TX.
In 1958 Rose married Billy Ray Massey and to this union five children were born Rose, Billie, Sonja, Linda, and Ivy. Rose lived in Woodward, OK and Perryton, TX. On December 31, 1966 she married William Lee Duncan, to this union was blessed two daughters Tammy Jo and Tracy Lynn. She later reunited with her high school sweetheart Thomas Alexander. They were married in November 1984, and the couple resided in Woodward. She worked at Western State Hospital in Fort Supply, OK as a seamstress for 26 years, where she retired. Her family was very important to her and she enjoyed entertaining her grandchildren and great grands. Her special interest included music and she loved to dance.
She was a member of the Ambucs and Moose Lodge. She also donated her time to help the Woodward Food Pantry.
Rose is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas Alexander; daughter Tracey Lynn; brother Johnny Wellman; sister-in-law Pat Wellman; two grandsons Jacob Price and Joseph Price; granddaughter Jaclyn Rutledge; great granddaughter Victoria Knisley; and two great grandsons Jacob Knisley and Michael Knisley.
She is survived by her children Rose and Bryan Combs of Woodward, OK, Billie and Jesse Rutledge of Turpin, OK, Sonja and Wally Harrison of Woodward, OK, Linda and Sergio Solis of Woodward, OK, Ivy Price of Woodward, OK, Tammy and Donnie McDannald of Vici, OK; sisters Wanda and Richard Davis of Byhalia, MS, and Luella and Jerry Lantelme of Woodward, OK; brother Frankie Wellman of Woodward, OK; 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren with another on the way and many, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
