July 19, 1960 ~ February 23, 2020

Rick Long, 59 year old former Gage, Oklahoma resident died Sunday, February 23, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 29, 2020 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the May Cemetery.

Ricky Lynn Long was born on July 19, 1960 in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Leo Carlile and Patricia Lou (Tarrant) Long. Rick grew up on the family farm south of May. While growing up he enjoyed riding motorcycles, riding bulls in junior rodeos, fishing at the "pond", and going camping with his family and friends in Colorado. Rick also enjoyed feeding cattle and taking care of the farm with his dad and uncle Bob. He attended school in May through the fourth grade when he transferred to Gage. He attended Gage Public Schools until he graduated in 1978. While in school Rick enjoyed playing sports and making many memories with his brothers, friends, and other family members. After high school he attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma. He farmed and ranched throughout his life, but also worked as a truck driver, equipment operator, and in construction.

Rick was blessed with three boys, Travis, Trey, and Trevor. He always supported his sons in their activities. He loved watching them play sports and being there to cheer them on.

Rick is survived by his mother, Patty Long of May; sons, Travis Long of Okarche; Trey Long and wife Whitney of Woodward; Trevor Long and wife Erica of Woodward; six grandchildren, Jaidynce, Jocelyn, Kade, Axe, Hank, and Cameron; brothers, Troy Long and wife Kelly; Casey Long; and Lyle Long; several nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo (Pacy) Long; his uncles Bob Long and Clifton Long; his aunt, Donna; his cousin, David Long; and his grandparents, Maude and Carl Long and Leo and Pearle Tarrant.
