JOHN RUSSELL ROBISON

August 27, 1948 - May 14, 2017

Graveside services for John Russell Robison, 68, of rural Canton, OK will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 19, 2017 at Fountain Cemetery west of Canton with Chaplain De Wayne Wright officiating. Service arrangements are by Pierce Funeral Home, Canton.

John Russell Robison was born on August 27, 1948 at Watonga, OK to Merlin C. and Darlene Chain-Towler. He departed this life on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at Enid, OK.

John's passion was his family, telling stories, old cars, tractors, fishing and hunting. He always had a kind word for everyone. John was raised in Canton, OK, Kuna and Meridian, ID. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1970. At the time of his death, he was employed at Diamondback Correctional Facility as a Maintenance Tech.

John was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Charity Robison; his parents; grandparents Lilly and Roy Robison, Fern and Harvey Bye and Jessie Chain; He is survived by his wife Carol Robertson; son Russell Robison; daughter Jennifer Robison; six grandchildren, James Robertson and wife Melanie of Clarkville, TN, Elizabeth Robertson of Canton, OK and her boyfriend Tyler Hodges of Okeene, OK, Chad Robison, Michael Robison, Samantha Robison and Braelynn Robison all of Idaho; one great-grandchild, Hadley Robison; one sister, Toni Zechmann of Washington; two half-sisters, Betina King of Weatherford, OK and Tammy Thrillkill and husband Terry of Watonga, OK; one half-brother, Butch Robison and wife Penny of Weatherford, OK; and one step-brother, Wayne Miosi and wife Marige of Weatherford, OK; and many nieces and nephews; Condolences may be made online at www.piercefuneralhomes.com.
