Mildred Marie (Wood) Hughes, age 94, a Coalgate resident.

BORN: She was born on October 11, 1921, to John and Mary (Keener) Wood, at Lone Star, OK

PASSED AWAY: Mildred passed away on March 3, 2016 at Coalgate, OK.

AGE: 94 years, 4 months and 21 days.

EDUCATION: She attended grade school at Parker and graduated from Coalgate High School.

OCCUPATION: Mildred was a homemaker during her early years. Mildred then taught First & Second grade at Prairie View Elementary School. Mildred, then was the Restaurant Manager at Wright Drug Store in Muskogee, Ok., for many years until her retirement.           

MARRIED: Mildred married Dewey Hughes on March 15, 1941, who preceded her in death on January 30, 2006

CHURCH AFFILIATION, HOBBIES AND OTHER AFFILIATIONS: Mildred was a member of the Coalgate Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, volunteering at the nursing home and gardening.

SON: Glen Hughes and wife Dixie of Great Bend, KS

DAUGHTER'S: Kathy Hughes of Coalgate, OK

                 Connie Hayes and husband Paul of North Little Rock, AR

DAUGHTER-IN-LAW: Joyce Hughes of Farmington, NM

GRANDSONS: Jeff Hughes and wife Jane of Olathe, KS

                           Jason Hughes and wife Barbara of Topeka, KS

                           Ryan Hayes and wife Sarah of Jonesboro, AR

                          Kevin Hughes and wife Lisa of Albuquerque, NM

                          Kyle Hughes and wife Kristie of Farmington, NM

                          Kris Hughes of Durango, CO

10-GREAT CHILDREN

Along with a host of numerous nieces & nephews
