June 17, 2015Submitted by: Jan Grooms Charlie McClain, son of Charlie and Loyce (Edwards) McClain was born September 6, 1955 in Stilwell, Ok and departed this life on June 10, 2015 in Tahlequah, OK at the age of 59 years, 9 months and 4 days.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening, very much enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid OU fan. He also loved collecting baseball cards and watching the Pittsburg Steelers. His home church was Hungry Mountain Holiness Church.
He worked for 29 years at Mrs. Smith Bakery. He also spent the last several years of working at Eubanks Saw Mill.
Charlie was preceded in death by his father; Charlie McClain and uncle; Irving "Doodle" McClain.
He is survived by a very loving family that includes his mother; Loyce McClain of the Home in Bunch, OK, children; Alesia McClain of Stilwell, OK, Sarah Sanders of Sallisaw, OK, Chas McClain, Jill Decker and husband Kyle all of Stilwell, OK, 3 grandchildren; Dylan Sanders, Ashton Robinson, Trace Sanders. 2 sisters; Gwen Fletcher and husband Ronnie of Stilwell, OK, Janet Rockwell and husband Bill of Colorado Springs, CO, several other relatives and many, many friends also survive him.
Funeral services were held at 10 am on Monday, June 15, 2015 at New Life Church, Stilwell, OK with Pastor Max Ford and Pastor Kevin Davis officiating. Interment followed at Hungry Mountain Cemetery, Welling, Ok under the direction of Roberts/Reed-Culver Funeral Home.
