TAHLEQUAH, OK- The Mass of Christian Burial for Katherine Jennifer “Kathy” Carter, age 58, will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. Brigid's Catholic Church in Tahlequah with Father Jeff Polasek officiating and Deacon Mark Keeley assisting. Interment will follow at Hendricks Cemetery in Tahlequah. A rosary will be recited on Friday, June 22, 2007 at 7:00 PM at the Hart Funeral Home Chapel.

Serving as pallbearers are Mr. Billy Pletsch, Mr. Joey Smith, Mr. Adam Carter, Mr. Marshall Pletsch, and Eric Chuculate.

Kathy was born on June 7th, 1949 in Portland, OR the daughter of Robert F. and LaVonne Rita (LaPierre) Lieb. Upon completeing high school, Kathy attended college and obtained her Bachelors Degree in Nursing. In 1975, Kathy moved to Tahlequah from California. She was employed at the VA Medical Center in Muskogee in the IRM Dept from 1999 till her illness kept her from serving others. Kathy loved her family dearly and loved raising her two children, Billy and Jennifer Pletsch. She also enjoyed working in her flower gardens, taking long walks, crocheting and sewing. She was an exceptional cook and devoted a great deal of time making wonderful meals for her family to enjoy. Kathy loved animals. She spent a great deal of time with her horse, her dog Daisey, and her three cats. But more important, Kathy loved people. A remarkable lady, Kathy was slow to anger, even tempered, and non-judgemental. She extended the hand of friendship to everyone she met and loved them in return. On May 3rd, 2006, Kathy married her best friend, Les W. Carter in Tahlequah, OK. They enjoyed laughing and sharing precious time together. Les was at her side on June 16th, 2007 when the Lord called Kathy to come home. She was a faithful member of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Tahlequah. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Kathy is preceded in death by her father Robert Lieb and her older brother Michael Lieb.

Those left to celebrate her memory include her loving husband Les of the home, her mother LaVonne Lieb of Lakewood, CA, two loving children, Billy and Tisha Pletsch of Tahlequah and daughter Jennifer Pletsch of Tahlequah, four brothers and sisters, Jeff and Debbie Lieb of Long Beach, CA. Marshall Lieb of Norwalk, CA, Roberta Lieb of Long Beach, CA, and Briget Lieb of Aliso Viejo, CA. Kathy's special grandson William Pletsch of Tahlequah, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends and loved ones.
