Victoria Elizabeth Wallace

May 15, 1997 -- February 25, 2013

Within each creation of worth and beauty, lies a piece of the creator. No artist ever painted a picture; no singer ever sang a song; no poet ever wrote a line without leaving their mark saying... this is mine; I have made it, and the Hands that shaped the clay that would become Victoria Elizabeth Wallace left his stamp there too, a Divine spark that would illuminate all our worlds. He marked her well as His creation endowing her with a love for singing and a love for reading, a talent for writing, a good heart and soft brown eyes.

Victoria, a freshman at Silo High School, was born May 15, 1997 and started her journey to the next world on February 25, 2013.

Such brevity in a lifespan often gives us pause, but the time given any human being on this plane would seem far too short, even at a hundred years, much less her time among us of just under sixteen years. Still, even the briefest of candles can give the brightest of lights, and hers shone with a brilliant radiance in its given time for all around her.

We will miss that light in our lives as she crosses the bridge from this world to the next following the trail made by loving and accomplished scouts, her beloved pappaw -- Floyd Wallace and her grampa -- Calvin Rhew along with her great grandparents who she is yet to meet.

She leaves a host of hearts behind on this side of the bridge who still have races to run, boats to build, horses to ride, lines to write, fences to mend and duties to fulfill: her loving parents, Mark and Ann Wallace, her sweet baby sister, Ashley Wallace; her grandmothers, Marticia Wallace and Kathryn Rhew all will miss her until they meet again. Her aunts and uncles, Marie and Wendell Risner, Leonard and Linda Wallace, Ron and Jane Wallace, Mike and Susan Wallace, Sherri and Bill Williams, Talmadge and Kari Rhew, Curtis Rhew and Shannon, along with a multitude of adoring cousins that number into the dozens will miss that sweet soul, those dark eyes and soft smile that touched their lives for just a while.

We must remember that it is that Divine spark which her Creator bestowed in her that we should keep close to our hearts. The work of a Master Artist such as He will forever endure even if that work is no longer within our immediate view. When we think of Victoria, let us recall her voice singing in the Silo Honor Choir, or her joy of gathering with family on Holidays, or attending church at Mead Baptist Church or Fairview Baptist Church.

When we close our eyes and think of Victoria, let us always see her sitting quietly with her many books, reading; let us picture her drawing or writing, creating her own works or maybe sitting, stroking her cat, Mu Shu, deep in peaceful meditation, and let us know we will meet again someday on the other side of that bridge when the time is right.

The family will receive visitors Friday night, March 1 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Home and services will be held at Brown's Funeral Chapel Saturday, March 2 at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Kerry Groce and Bro. Jimmy Moore officiating.

Cousins Aaron Wallace, Cody Wallace, Corey Williams, Chance Risner, Jesse Risner and Tanner Risner will serve as pallbearers with Matthew Wallace, Bill Schreier, Wesley Schreier and Bobby Johnson serving as honorary pallbearers with interment at Highland Cemetery in Durant.
