Curtis Turner, a resident of Mead, Oklahoma, left this life and joined his Savior on Monday November 27, 2017, at the age of 76. He was born on February 1, 1941 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to Joe (Jack) Wilson and Clairette Jewel (Jestis) Turner. Curtis shared his life with his bride, Lille Jane McDonald, they married on August 1, 1959.
Curtis was a member of the 7th and Beech Church of Christ in Durant. He had a strong work ethic and provided for his family by working at Johnson and Johnson for 13 years, Kimberly Clark for 14 years, and he owned Turner Sand and Gravel for 8 1/2 years. Curtis loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, working in his garden, but he especially enjoyed working the land on his tractor.
Mr. Turner is survived by his beloved wife, Lillie Jane Turner of the home; sons, David Turner and wife Debra of Durant, Oklahoma, Bobby Turner and wife Karla of Durant, Oklahoma, Kenneth Turner and wife Cindy of Durant, Oklahoma and Michael Turner and wife Tracey of Calera, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents, Joe (Jack) Wilson Turner and Clairette Jewel Turner.
Family Hour will be from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 29th at the Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma. A church service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday November 30th at the 7th and Beech Church of Christ in Durant with Bro. John Curtis officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Durant. The pallbearers will be Stacy Fincher, BJ Albright, Billy Albright, Dennis Maness, Layne Murphree, and Dylan Payne.
