Clifford Ronald “Ronnie” Swafford, 72 of Durant, OK passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 in Dallas, TX. He was born on November 12, 1946 in Durant, OK to Clifford Gerrel and Eva Louise (Manners) Swafford.

Ronnie grew up and lived most of his life here in Bryan County. He was married to Brenda Mac Swafford for over 20 years, and they had their two daughters together, Dana and Kim. He later then met Karen Chapman, and they were together for over 21 years before his passing. Ronnie worked as a Water Treatment Operator for the City of Durant for around 35 years. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was an avid OU Sooners fan. Ronnie enjoyed going to his grandkids activities, ball games, and barrel racing events. He loved spending time with his family and playing his guitars. Also when he was younger, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and going to rooster fighting.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents.

Ronnie is survived by his daughters; Dana Swafford Coker and husband Jeremy of Bennington, OK and Kimberly Swafford Brock of Talihina, OK, six grandchildren; Cameron Teal and wife Ashley of Bennington, OK, Jeromy Teal of Bennington, OK, Cecilia Miller of Durant, OK, Ty Coker of Bennington, OK, Pakalni Brock of Talihina, OK, and Dayla Coker of Bennington, OK, six great grandchildren; Kelton and Wyatt Teal of Bennington, OK, Kane Mitchell, Brantlee and Atticus Teal and Hadlee Coker of Bennington, OK, sister Jean Breland of Durant, OK, brothers; Danny Swafford and wife Barbara of Durant, OK and William “Bill” Swafford and wife Coleen of Allen, TX, significant other Karen Chapman of Durant, OK, mother of children Brenda Swafford of Bennington, OK, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service will be Friday, August 9, 2019 at 10:00 AM in Brown’s Funeral Service Chapel with interment at Highland Cemetery in Durant, OK and Pastor Bruce McLaughlin officiating. Family Hour will be Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 6-8:00 PM at Faith Temple Pentecostal Church of God at 928 N. 8th in Durant, OK. Pallbearers will be Cameron Teal, Jeromy Teal, Ty Coker, Jeremy Coker, Danny Swafford, and Rick Sullivan. Honorary Pallbearers are William “Bill” Swafford, Jimmy Brown, Todd Kosar and Ronnie Joe Richardson. Condolences can be sent to www.brownsfuneralservice.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown’s Funeral Service in Durant, OK.
