Ranger died in Durant at his home on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at the age of 68. He was born on September 8, 1945.

When Ranger was younger he was an accomplished musician and a trumpet player in a California band.

Ranger was an oil well worker, world traveler, investigative research writer, and was ordained in child ministry in 1995 in the Gates of Glory Church.

He came to Durant in 1997, while here he became a carpenter and an outstanding house painter having a gift for selecting beautiful color combinations. His excellent work can be seen all over Durant.

Ranger loved the Lord and was always ready to witness to others. He was no respecter of persons loving and ministered to all types of people, especially those in need, like widows and those who couldn't do for themselves. He did numerous thankless deeds daily, never boasting nor expecting credit for anything. He was Christ-like, a kind, benevolent, giving man.

Ranger was admired by everyone who truly knew him. He will be solely missed by those who loved him dearly - - those whose lives he touched just by being Ranger.

A gathering of his friends will be held from 6:00 -7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at the Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home.

A funeral service to honor his memory will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Highland Cemetery Chapel with Pastor Dan McLemore officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Carolyn Barrett, Jean Bowens, Ann Bryant, Betty Massey, Shirley McLain, Merrill Barnett, Cindy Soltis, Linda Smiley, Jennie Wright and Susan Wyche.

Family and friends may send online condolences and view tributes at www.holmescoffeymurray.com.

Services are under the direction of Holmes Coffey Murray Funeral Home, Durant, Okahoma.
