Brent Donald Parham was born December 9, 1957 in Magnolia, Arkansas to parents Donald A. Parham and Kay (Baker) Parham, and passed away on July 7, 2017.
He moved to Durant with his family in 1959. He loved boating on Lake Texoma, swimming in the Durant pool, and riding his moped. He also was a great fan of the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Southeastern University baseball team.
At the age of five he began attending the Oklahoma School for the Deaf and graduated in 1978. Shortly after that he began working at Sheltered Work Opportunities, now People First Industries, and was employed there until June, 2017.
He is survived by his mother; brothers David and wife Shelley, and Warren and wife Angela of Dallas; nieces Virginia Adams and husband Chance of Golden, CO, and Adeline Parham of Boulder, CO; nephews Will Parham and Mason and wife Claire Parham of Dallas; and grand-nephew John Parham of Dallas.
Preceding Brent in death were his father and his grandparents William and Margery Baker, Louella Prosper, and Carl Parham.
The family wishes to give special thanks to Victory Hospice and Bobby and Norma Wells for their compassionate care of Brent.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday July 12th at the Highland Cemetery Chapel with Jeremy Parham officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Metheny, Kenny Chaffin, Keith Baxter, Ray Richards, Ron Faubion, Charles Weiner, and Harold Harmon.
The family suggest memorials may be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, 7168 Columbia Gateway Dr., Suite 100, Columbia, MD 21046-3256 or the charity of choice.Services are under the direction of Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home in Durant, Oklahoma.
