Services to celebrate the life of Gregory Suther Mowles, 38, of Durant, who passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at his home will be held on Friday, December 12, 10:00 a.m. at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel. Bro. Ray Earley and John Wilson Sr. will officiate.

Gregory was born January 22, 1970, in Oklahoma City to Jerry Sr. and Irene Bruner Mowles.

He attended and graduated from Durant High School then joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly and honorably served his country from 1988 to 1992.

Gregory was a loving father, son, brother and friend.

He was a member of the Victory Life Church and he enjoyed reading, drawing, spending time with family, especially his daughter and the joy of his life, Ginavee.

Gregory will be greatly missed by all who knew and dearly loved him.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Terrance O'Banion Mowles; grandparents, Cora Mae Lowe, Suther Bruner and Tony and Lavera Mowles and aunts, Cindy Harjo and Ramona Dio.

Left to cherish Gregory's memory are his daughter, Ginavee Mowles of Cartwright; mother, Irene Mowles; father, Jerry Mowles Sr.; sister, Monica Mowles-Terrell; sister, Denise Stewart and husband Sonny; brother, Jerry Mowles Jr. and wife Leslie; sister Camille Mowles; sister, Whitney Mowles all of Durant; special friend, Carrie Ramey of Cartwright; and numerous other relatives and a host of dear and loved friends.

Interment will be in Highland Cemetery with Mark Patterson, Jason Grider, James Reynolds, John Caraway, Byron Cordell, Tommy Barnett, John Wilson Jr. and Billy Jack Wilson serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
