Minnie L. Mote, a resident of Durant, Oklahoma, and beloved family member left this life and joined her Savior in Durant, Oklahoma on Sunday December 17, 2017, at the age of 93. She was born in Ector, Texas, Fanning County on August 2, 1924 to Will Ed and Pearl (Ford) Claborn. Minnie married Homer Lee Mote in Durant, Oklahoma on October 27, 1956.
Minnie moved with her family to Oklahoma in 1933, and lived near Durant most of her life. She worked as a checker for Piggly Wiggly, Safeway Food Stores, JC Penny, and retired from the Bryan County Memorial Hospital in 1979. Minnie was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant.
Mrs. Mote is survived by her beloved son Rickey Wayne Mote of Durant, Oklahoma; grandson, Tommy Joe Mote and wife Kristey of Durant, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Montana Pierce and husband Alan of Durant, Oklahoma, Cameron Mote and Summer Williams of Achille, Oklahoma, Mackenzie Mote of Calera, Oklahoma, and Brenden Mote of Calera, Oklahoma; great-great grandchildren, Addison Pierce of Durant, Oklahoma and Christian Blackburn of Durant, Oklahoma; she is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Mote was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Pearl Claborn; husband, Homer Lee Mote; brothers, Jeff, Willie, Eddie, Tommy, and Van Claborn and sister, Annie Claborn.
A church service will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday December 20th at the Calvary Baptist Church in Durant with Bro. Darel Bunch officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Bobby Hatcher, Glenn Hull, Joey Bailey, Lance Luke, Roger Luke, Tommy Mote, and Glendel Rushing.
