Theda (Cobb) Kissel, 94 years, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, in Calera, OK.

Theda was born May 20, 1923, in Antlers, OK, to David L. Cobb and Sarah (Elliston) Cobb. She graduated from Blue High School and attended Southeastern State College.

She married Jesse Earl Kissel on November 12, 1950 in Durant, OK. Theda was an executive secretary at Hale-Halsell Co. for over 30 years, retiring in May 1989. After retirement, she joined the “Pink Ladies” at MCSO Auxiliary, where she worked for many years and enjoyed her time interacting with patients and families in the gift shop. Theda was extremely devoted to her faith, and was an active member of New Hope Church of the Nazarene until her illness prevented her from further attendance. She loved her church and her extended church family members. She especially loved the church dinners and the wonderful fellowship.

Theda was preceded in death by her parents, David and Sarah Cobb; husband Earl Kissel; brothers Marvin Cobb, Herman Cobb, and D.L. Cobb; and sisters Elsie Townsend, Thelma Seat; Mildred Grubbs and Janice McLaren. She is survived by her son Ken Kissel and wife Kenna of Calera, OK; and granddaughter Laura Kissel of Houston, TX, along with many nieces and nephews.

Family hour will be from 9-10:00 AM one hour before the service on Friday July 21st at the New Hope Church of the Nazarene in Durant, Oklahoma. The service will begin at 10:00 AM with Rev. Clifford Joines officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Cemetery.
