Poplar Grove Cemetery

Location: S26-T1-R28

This cemetery is in the southeast corner of Beaver County. To go to the cemetery from the south or east turn west off US 183 at the Catesby Road as marked by small signs on the highway. Follow the paved road west and north for several miles to the end of the blacktop. This is the 100th Meridian and the Beaver County line. Continue ½ mile west. The cemetery is on the top of a hill on the north side of they road. Elizabeth Lloyd gave to the public an acre of ground for a cemetery. The Lloyd men began moving the bodies from the Lovell Ranch to the new cemetery in 1904.This cemetery was known for years as the Lloyd cemetery; then later, the Green Cemetery. Later interested parties held a meeting to form an organization to make a plat of all the lots. The name was changed at this time to Poplar Grove, and the Home Demonstration Club planted some trees.
