Ruth Ann (Shell) Daugherty, daughter of Toss Shell and Plizia Ruth Mashunkashey, was born August 7, 1957 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life surrounded by her loved ones on May 20, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years, 9 months and 13 days.
Ruth had a great love for her family especially spending time with her grandkids watching them play sports. Her family enjoyed her cooking and some of their favorites were meatloaf, chili and biscuits and gravy. She had a big heart and it truly showed by being a mother and nana to so many. Her passion for helping others carried over to her job by working as an emergency dispatcher for over 21 years between Stilwell Police Department, Adair County Sherriff s Office and Westville Police Department.
She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; Plizia Bishop and Toss Shell, son; Christopher Galcatcher, brother; Benjamin Shell, sister; Sarah Simmons, and husband Joe Daugherty.
She is survived by a very loving family that includes her daughters; Michelle Daugherty, Angela Daugherty, Brittany Daugherty all of Stilwell, grandchildren; Amiah, Aselyn, Christopher. Siblings; Elizabeth Shell and husband Anthony, Nellie Ayers all of Memphis, Tenn., Keith Shell of Kingston Springs, Tenn., Timothy Bishop and wife Ann Marie of Stilwell, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends also survive her.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 24, 2018 New Life Church, Stilwell, with Wayne Pinkerton and Bro. Gary Flynn officiating. There was a Poem by Amiah and a Bible Verse byAselyn and Dayci. Interment followed at Fourkiller Cemetery, Stilwell, under the direction of Roberts/Reed- Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell.
