Amelia Mae Feil, was born on January 8, 1935, in Woodward, Oklahoma the daughter of Andrew A Feil and Alvina (Schnieder) Feil. Amelia Mae grew up on the family farm SE of Fargo with her older sister Mary Ann and attended the Tangier school until the 8th grade. Then attended Fargo High School where she graduated with the class of 1952. She was recruited by the American School of Business in Wichita, Ks where she attended at the age of 17 for 2 years. While attending college she impressed the college's recruiter so much that he hired her to be the nanny for his three children and cleaned the home of his in-laws the Preists.

Amelia Mae ended up moving to Wichita after the two years of college. Where she would reside the next 30 years working at the Sedgwick County Court House in the county treasures office. She met her best friend Beth and her soon to be husband Mariano. Amelia Mae would travel with them to many tribal PowWows over the years with Mariano's brother Leroy and family. She was the god mother of Beth and Mariano's daughter Keisha. Amelia was a member of the Wichita chapter of Sweet Adelines, they sang at many competitions across the country. While in living in Wichita her father Andrew (which she always called Daddy) developed ALS sometime in late 1972 and it took him quickly with his passing in August of 1973 leaving great void.

Amelia Mae moved back home to the family farm in 1981 to help out her mother Alvina when she had some health issues and to help her sister Mary Ann raise her youngest son Avery after her divorce.

Amelia's first job back in Oklahoma was at Homestead Savings and Loan she worked there until its closing in 1986. She then took a job for the Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation in Dallas. They flew her back and forth each week for just about 18 months until the travel and time away was too much. She then found her next job at the Stock Exchange Bank as loan secretary and retired in 2001. Then, a couple years after retirement when the social security check didn't outlast the bills, Amelia Mae worked as a part-time tax preparer for Latta ATI in Fargo.

She enjoyed going to family reunions and researching the family genealogy, square dancing with the Red Carpet Squares, sewing, and taking care of her cats, a couple of dogs, and her chickens. She served as the Fargo School Alumni committee secretary for many years until recently handing it off. Amelia was a member of the Fargo Methodist where she served many-many years as treasurer and secretary for several committees and groups.

Amelia would over time persevered through several tough times after moving back to Oklahoma: such as losing her nephew Alan to a car accident on his way to work in 1986, her mother's death from breast cancer in 1995, her own diagnosis of breast cancer but with a better outcome of complete remission in 2015, and the loss of her sister Mary Ann from heart disease in 2021.
