EVELYN MAY MORRIS REISDORPH

May 01, 1933 - July 18, 2017

Evelyn May Morris Reisdorph, daughter of Norman and Hazel Stoddard Morris, was born May 1, 1933, at Webb, Oklahoma. She passed from this life at the Brookdale Statesman Club Independent Living in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on July 18, 2017. She was 84 years of age. Evelyn attended school at Long Creek and Homestead country schools through her freshmen year and high school at Camargo, Oklahoma, graduating with the class of 1951.

In 1954, she met Kenneth Reisdorph. They were married at Vici, Oklahoma, on July 24, that same year, by Brother Rolly Cunningham. Their first home was established briefly in Enid, Oklahoma, before moving to Elk City, Oklahoma, where their daughter and son, Mary and David, were born. The family moved to Warr Acres, Oklahoma, in 1963, where Evelyn lived until February of this year. Evelyn was employed at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City as a labor and delivery scrub technician. She delivered hundreds of babies in her 27-year career before retiring in 1996. Her hobbies and special interests were sewing, photography, bowling and traveling.

She attended the Putnam City United Methodist Church and was a member of the Putnam City Travel Club, Telephone Pioneers of America, Deaconess Retiree Association and Putnam City PTA. She also served as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and 4-H volunteer. Evelyn was a cheerleader at softball, basketball, soccer and livestock shows. For over 20 years, she staffed the Ag Youth Magazine booth during the Oklahoma Youth Expo Livestock Show and was known to livestock exhibitors across the state as “Grandma.” She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Kenneth. She is survived by her daughter Mary Peck and husband Larry of Sentinel, Oklahoma, son David Reisdorph and wife Lacy of Glenpool, Oklahoma. Four grandchildren--Lori Morton and husband Tyson of Newkirk, Oklahoma, Tyler Peck and wife Stephanie of Sentinel, Oklahoma, Kira Reisdorph and Dmitri Reisdorph of Glenpool, Oklahoma. Two great grandchildren--Trenton Morton and Shaelynn Peck, her brothers and sisters, uncles Leroy Morris and Freddie Morris, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
