Ruth Holloway, 90 year old Mooreland resident, died Friday, November 21, 2014 in the Woodward Regional Hospital in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 24, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Mooreland with the Reverend David Houchin officiating. Visitation will be held at the Billings Chapel of Mooreland on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, southeast of Quinlan.
Naomi Ruth Garvie was born on August 8, 1924 at the family home southeast of Quinlan, Oklahoma; she was the daughter of Isaac and Blanche Garvie. Ruth graduated from Quinlan High School. Sometime after graduation, she was married to Robert Finley. To this union, three daughters were born. Ruth was united in marriage to Billy Holloway on March 29, 1952 in Woodward, Oklahoma. To this union two children were born. They made their home in the Cedardale area where they farmed and ranched. They spent most of their lives on the farm, before moving into Mooreland in 1989 where Ruth lived until she passed away.
Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mooreland. Ruth and Bill were very involved in the church.
She is survived by four daughters, Deanna Ames and husband Byron of Mooreland; Linda Lintner and husband Gary of Mooreland; Saundra Lovell and husband Bobby of Fairfield, Iowa; Pam Miller and husband Michael of Duncan; one son Tracy Holloway of Mooreland; 14 grandchildren; Lesa Tune and husband Shawn; Angie Tedder and husband Michael, Greta Cosgrave and husband Mark, Sara Hixon and fiancee Craig Fairless, Mitchell Hicks and wife Julie, Cindy Wilson, Tim Lintner, Amy Thompson and husband Kelly, Shannon Price, Justin Miller and wife Melissa. Nelson Miller and wife Lyndsey, Lacey Buffington, Sean Shadid and wife Heidi, Grant Holloway and wife Jennifer; 38 great-grandchildren, Jami Jantz and husband Kevin, Matt Tune, Trey Enterline, Rhett Enterline, Brooke Tedder, Brandon Tedder, Reagan Benton, Zack Benton, Cali Ames, Kale Hixon, Paige Hixon, Thomas Fairless, Chase Fairless, Bryleigh Fischer, Dycen Hensley, Trista Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Samantha Wilson, Seth Lintner, Emily Lintner, Kinlee Lintner, Austin Cargle, Brady Lovell, Mason Riley, Kiersten Price, Caitlin Price, Maddison, Zane and Avery Miller, Aiden, Asher, Boston Miller, Tristan and Ryleigh Shadid, Stevan, and Starla Holloway, Cashten Buffington, four great-great grandchildren; Haylee, Chloe and Kennedy Jantz, Oliver Wilson; one sister, Fayanna Winters of Mooreland; brothers-in-law, Cecil Holloway and wife Helen; Marion Holloway and wife Maebeth all of Mooreland; sister-in-law Flora Mae Arthaud and husband Alan of Mutual; other relatives and many friends.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Holloway on December 17, 2000; parents Isaac and Blanche Garvie; brother Burdette Garvie; infant sister; sisters-in-law Aylene Garvie and Annalee Garvie; brother-in-law John Winters; grandsons, Scott Ames, Ryan Ames and Craig Lovell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mooreland with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
