Elaine "Kay" Mote

mote-e-k
February 9, 1961 - March 30, 2023

On February 9, 1961, a beautiful baby girl was brought into this life. Lile and Dottie Mae Mote got a long-awaited phone call they had been praying for. This child was to become their only daughter. Lile and Dottie Mae named her Elaine Kay Mote.

Kay grew up on the family farm south of Sharon with her two ornery older brothers Duane & Darrel Mote. Kay was a member of the South Persimmon Baptist Church. She was involved in 4-H, softball, track and basketball.

Kay attended elementary school in Sharon and graduated high school in Mutual, OK. Her basketball team made it to state 3 of the 4 years. During her time in school Kay was awarded the outstanding 4-H member award and was highly decorated in athletics. Her bedroom truly looked like a trophy case.

After graduating in 1979 Kay continued her education at Northwestern Oklahoma State University on a basketball scholarship. Shortly after college Kay made her home in Enid, OK.

Kay went to be with her Lord and rejoined with her immediate family on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the age of 62. She is preceded in death by her parents Lile and Dottie Mae (Adams) Mote, brothers Duane Mote and Darrel Mote and many other family members.

She is survived by her special friend Linda Piruanunta; 3 nieces Michelle Mendrano and husband Raymon of Sharon, OK, Melissa Barnett of Woodward, OK and Misti Nelson and husband Adam of Woodward, OK; nephew Michael Mote and wife Samantha of Durango, CO; 8 great nephews Trevor Spence and wife Cori, Cameron, Carsten and Corben Barnett, Rowdy, Elijah, Jonah and Noah Nelson; 2 great great nephews Sabastion Spence and Walker James Barnett; other family and a host of friends.

Burial following service at South Persimmon Cemetery.
