William Collie Thompson was born October 4, 1931 in Cooksville, Tennessee to William Collie and Dollie (Morris) Thompson. He attended school in Tennessee and was reared in the Springfield and Center Point, Tennessee area. Bill was united in marriage to Louise Dean Raymer on October 4, 1950 in Springfield, Tennessee. To this union they were blessed with six children, William Terry, Robert Neel, Paul Anthony, Wanda Louise, Joyce Dean, and Doris Jean. Bill was a tobacco farmer for a period of time before going to work on the pipeline. The family made their home in Cedar Hill, Tennessee until the early 1960's. The family traveled to over 27 states while Bill worked as a welder on the pipeline. In 1968 Tidwell Construction Company moved Bill to Woodward and he has lived here since that time. He retired in 1993 but went back to work for JOMAX in 1998.

Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and being with his family.

He is survived by two sons, Paul Thompson and wife Bobbie; Neel Thompson and wife Debbie; two daughters Doris Charmasson and husband Alan all of Woodward; Wanda Cooper of Enid; eight grandchildren Michael Thompson, Justin Thompson, Cody Thompson, Anthony Thompson, Daniel Cooper, Jeannie Thompson, Timothy Thompson, Teanna Cooper; seven great-grandchildren Elizabeth Thompson, Chelsea Thompson, Jessie Thompson, Jackie Thompson, Nathanial Hood, Makenzie Hood, Aspen Chinak; three brothers Franklin Thompson and wife Zita; Wayman Thompson and wife Lois; Minor Thompson; many other relatives and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise on November 4, 2005, one son Terry in 1968, one daughter Joyce in 1999 and two brothers Jerry and Elmer Thompson.
