The funeral for Betty Wood, 89, of Sharon, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sharon United Methodist Church. Chad Horton will officiate. Burial will be in North Persimmon Cemetery. Viewing will be at the funeral home and at the church prior to the service. Arrangements are by Billings Funeral Home, Woodward.

She was born Jan. 25, 1916, in May to Andrew Jay and Chrissie Ellen Damewood Horner and died Wednesday, July 6, 2005, in Amarillo, Texas.

She attended elementary school in May, graduating from Sharon High School in 1935.

She married Frank Y. Wood March 9, 1936. He died June 9, 1999.

She was a homemaker and a member of Sharon United Methodist Church. She worked for the U.S. Post Office for 21 years, retiring in 1984, and served as a Pink Lady Volunteer at Woodward Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are four children, Sam Wood of Kingfisher, Sandra Walker of Amarillo, Donna Poston of Sharon and Joe Wood of Elmore City; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Sharon United Methodist Church.
