Lois Maxine Lively Whitson

Lois Whitson, 84 year old Seiling resident, died Sunday, July 18, 2021 in the Seiling Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the Sharon First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the North Persimmon Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Lois Maxine (Lively) Whitson was born February 13, 1937 to Maurice Lee (Brown) and Berea Leora Lively in Rural Sharon, Oklahoma. Lois grew up a farm near Sharon and Graduated from Sharon High School. She was united in marriage to Gordon Quinby and to this union two children were born, Alan and Ronda. The couple made their first home in Tulsa, then near Selman on the family farm until Gordon's death in 1982. Lois married Floyd Whitson in 1984 and settled in Sharon, where she resided until she required full time care. Lois worked at Triplett Oil Company before going to work at the Woodward Hospital working in Materials Management.

After retiring from the hospital, Lois enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards and board games, gardening, playing piano and singing, doing puzzles and reading. Lois was an amazing cook and enjoyed sharing home made dishes and confections with the community.

She was active in the Sharon First Baptist Church, Sharon United Methodist Church and the Sharon Senior Center.

Lois is survived by two children, Alan Quinby and wife Tonya; Ronda Custer and husband Mervin; grandchildren, Garrett Quinby; Jacey Halliburton and husband J.R.; Blain Quinby; Lindsey Custer; Zac Quinby; bonus children from Floyd; Jessie Whitson and wife Sandy; Dixie McDonald; Rhodona Thomas and husband Sean; and several grandchildren; siblings, Dean Lively and partner Jim Moore; Fay Richmond and husband Albert; Joe Lively and wife Angel; and Jim Lively; many nieces, nephews other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Gordon Quinby, and Floyd Whitson; sisters, Beth Snider and Carroll Ellis; several brother and sister-in-laws.
