KEN LIVELY

October 17, 1965 - September 27, 2017

Ken Lively, 51 year old Mooreland area resident, lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Woodward County Fair Barn and Event Center with Reverend Phillip Ludwyck officiating. Burial will follow in the North Persimmon Cemetery, east of Sharon, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Ken Dale Lively was born October 17, 1965 in Woodward, Oklahoma; he was the son of Dale Leon and Janet (Baker) Lively. Ken grew up on the family farm in Sharon and graduated from Sharon-Mutual High School. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva. He was united in marriage to Tasha Hepner on May 23, 1992 in Mooreland, Oklahoma. They were blessed with three children, Kendall, Wade, and Wyatt. The family made their first home in Sharon and they built their home north of Mooreland in 2006.

Ken worked for Broce Construction in Woodward for five years. He worked for a period of time for the Bill Johnson Correctional Center in Alva, Oklahoma and finished his career as the Chief of Security at the William S. Key Correctional Center.

Ken’s children were his proudest accomplishment in life and he loved watching them excel at sports and show their lambs. He also enjoyed playing poker with the guys and playing softball with the Woodward Merchants (winning the Class A State Tournament). He loved hunting, fishing, attending and watching NASCAR races, camping and fishing with friends and family. He also loved attending concerts and 4-H shooting sports.

He was a member of the Sharon United Methodist Church. Ken was also a member of the Woodward County Fair Board and the Mooreland Stock Show Association.

He is survived by his wife Tasha Lively of the home; one daughter, Kendall Lively and future son, Jacob Schnoebelen of Norman, Oklahoma; two sons: Wade Lively and Wyatt Lively of the home; mom, Janet Lively of Sharon; father-in-law, Travis Hepner of Mooreland; two brothers: Randy and Vicki Lively of Sharon, Steve and Cindy Lively of Sharon; one sister Susan Allen and husband Russ of Guthrie and their children, Audrey and Luke Allen; two brothers-in-law, Grant Hepner of Mooreland, Trever Hepner of Mooreland; nephew Kurt Lively and wife Jarie and their daughter Kennedy of Edmond; nieces, Skyleigh and Blair Lively of Woodward; numerous other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Dale Lively, nephew, Ryan Lively, and mother-in-law, Linda Hepner.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Ken Lively Children’s Education Fund with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
