Claudia Guthrie, 99 year old Woodward resident, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in Deaconness Hospital in Oklahoma City. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Sharon with the Reverend Junior Zollinger officiating. Interment will be in the North Persimmon Cemetery, east of Sharon.
Claudia (Winstead) Guthrie was born on March 18, 1915 four miles east of Sharon, Oklahoma to William Thomas and Agnes Tabitha (Keesman) Winstead. Claudia attended country school until the eighth grade and she then went to Mutual and graduated from Mutual High School in 1934. She was united in marriage to Joe Guthrie on April 18, 1934 in Fairview, Oklahoma. They made their home in Mutual and were blessed with two children, H.C. and Dollie. Claudia was devoted to her children and her husband and she will be missed by all. She was head cook, clothes washer, accountant, and nurse.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sharon, where Claudia served as Secretary, and in the nursery.
She is survived by her two children, H.C. Guthrie and wife Phyllis of Woodward; Dollie Clem and husband Donnie of Woodward; grandchildren, Kim Klick; Carter Guthrie, Penny Guthrie, Amanda Crabtree and husband Shawn, Beth Miles, Kelli Hickman and husband Ronnie, Bill J Clem and wife Angela; great-grandchildren, Allison Klick, Devry Klick, Mitchell Guthrie, JoLee Grace Guthrie-Denton, Aspen Love Crabtree, Denym Crabtree, Aunyx Crabtree, Micah Miles, Krystal Miles, Jesse Miles, Jerod Miles, Andrew Hickman, Austin Hickman, Anthony Hickman, Brennon Clem, Blayze Clem; great-great-grandchildren, Brody Miles and Huck Miles; one sister Georgia Lee Eubank of Oklahoma City; other relatives and friends.
Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, six sisters, and one brother.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
