Lois Viletta McHaney Young

December v13, 1937 ~ October 8, 2022

Lois Young, 84 year old Woodward resident passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at her home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022 in the Mooreland First Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.

Lois Villetta (McHaney) Young was born to Frederick Rollan and Lucille (Wright) McHaney on December 13, 1937 in the old Woodward Hospital. She grew up in Fort Supply and Woodward. She attended Woodward schools and graduated with the Woodward High School class of 1957. Lois was in the Woodward High School Band. She played the clarinet.

Lois was united into marriage to Curtis Buss. To this union they were blessed five children, Kelle, Kathe, Tamme, Vickie, and K.R. She was then united into marriage to Jody Gentry and she gained four more stepchildren, Brenda, Terry, Tony and Kim Gentry. She was then married to George Baker. Gary Baker would then join this family, where Lois would raise and adopt Gary at two weeks old. Lois then found the love of her life, Bill Young. He brought two more sons, Bruce and Billy Jack to their family. Lois enjoyed spending time with her family at Canton Lake. One of Lois' favorite things was to make all her family and close friends blankets for the holidays. Lois was a longtime ABATE member and she also owned her own business for over 50 years. She collected light houses, shot glasses, salt and pepper shakers, dolls, hummingbirds, and spoons from different states. She enjoyed helping watch the grandchildren, and attend all the kids activities. She was always willing and welcoming to anyone that needed to be taken in. She loved to play pool and darts.

Lois is survived by her four daughters, Kelle Robinson and husband Robert; Kathe Peil; Tamme Buss; and Vickie Henry and husband Billy; two sons, Kurt Buss and wife Rhonda and Gary Baker and wife Teresa; one brother, Tom McHaney and wife Reann; 62 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Young; her parents, Fred and Lucille McHaney; children, Terry Gentry, Brenda Burton, and Tony Gentry; son in law Mickey Peil; grandchildren, Shannan and R.J. Krause, Valire Woodward, Amanda Rogers, Adonis Peil; great grandchildren, Johnan Rock and Austine Woodward; sister Dorothy Murlin and husband Darrell.

She loved her people fiercely.
