Joyce Anna Huff Turner

Joyce Turner, 82 year old Ardmore resident and former Mooreland area resident, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 in Ardmore. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 13, 2023 in the Mooreland Cemetery. Burial will follow with Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Joyce Anna (Huff) Turner was born on November 23, 1940 in Quinlan, Oklahoma to Eugene Victor and Ina Irene (Cook) Huff. While Joyce was a child she and her family lived in Quinlan, Waynoka, and Mooreland. Joyce graduated from Mooreland High School. She was united in marriage to Melvin Leotis Turner on December 4, 1960 They made their home in Woodward. They also lived in Oklahoma City, before moving to Ardmore. Joyce worked at Glass Services Inc. for 20 years. She also owned and operated My Haven Book Store in Ardmore for 15 years.

Joyce loved books she collected and read them. She also had a daily journal that she wrote in from the time she was a teenager. Her and Melvin enjoyed going to movies, playing the slots and spending time with family and friends.

She served as President of the Jaycee Janes of Ardmore.

Joyce is survived by her husband Melvin Turner of the home; brother, Richard Huff; sister, Carmeleta Huff; and Darlene Lewis; several other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Ina Huff, brother, Billy Gene Huff; and son, Steven Ray Turner.
