Eva Lee Johnson, 88 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Friday, January 14, 2022 in Mooreland. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland with Reverend Micah Welcher officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Eva Lee (Davis) Johnson was born on August 5, 1933 in Woodson County, Kansas to Charles Hugh and Henrietta Bertha (Wolff) Davis. She grew up in Kansas and graduated from Augusta High School in Augusta, Kansas in 1951. Eva Lee was united in marriage to Harold "Clifford" Johnson on November 23, 1952 in August, Kansas. They made their first home in North Carolina since Clifford was in the United States Marine Corp. They moved to Mooreland in 1958 and have lived there since that time. Eva Lee worked as the Librarian for the Mooreland Elementary School for many years, retiring in the early 1990's.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Clifford Johnson; one son, Tommy Johnson and wife Regina; one daughter, Janice Stanfill and husband Bill; four grandchildren: Cindy Reed and husband Jerrod, Andrea Frazier and husband Gregory, Janie Briggs and Rothy, and Jessica Johnson; eight great-grandchildren: Emma White and Kolby, Austin Reed, Arlee Hope Reed, Brogan Sears, Dawson Frazier, Kamdyn Frazier, Keirstin Briggs, Kellyn Briggs; one sister, Katherine Arnold and husband Don; sister-in-law, Mary Davis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Eva Lee was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Charles Davis and niece Julie Davis.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Providence Place with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
