Margie Marie {Houser} HollowayMargie M. Holloway, 101 year old Mooreland resident, died Friday, October 17, 2008 in the Mooreland Heritage Manor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward with Reverend Orville White officiating. Interment will be in the Mooreland Cemetery. Visitation with the Holloway family will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2008 at the funeral home in Woodward from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Margie Marie (Houser) Holloway was born on September 12, 1907 northeast of Chester, Oklahoma to Charles and Rosa (Eldred) Houser. She was reared in the Chester area and attended school at Pleasant View. Margie was united in marriage to Dee E. Holloway on August 20, 1930 in Fairview, Oklahoma. They made their home on the farm southeast of Mooreland. To this union four children were born, Bobby, Wanda, Rodney and Donnie. The family moved into Mooreland in 1948. Margie went to work for the Mooreland Farmers Telephone Company as a night operator from 1951 until 1962, at which time Pioneer Telephone took over. She continued working as a cashier until her retirement in 1973. After her retirement her and Dee spent several years traveling. She continued living in Mooreland and has resided there since that time.

Margie was a housewife and a devoted mother to her four children. She enjoyed playing the piano and loved being with her family.

She is survived by her children, Bobby L. Holloway and wife Jean of Ft. Supply; Wanda Swanson and husband James of Sachse, Texas; Donnie D. Holloway and wife Marthella of Enid; ten grandchildren, Bobby Dee Holloway and wife LaNita; Mark Washburn; Connie Burns and husband Bill; Colleen Mills and husband Gary; Christi Washburn; Cindy Holster and husband Jeff; Vickie Reid and husband Kevin; Bill Holloway; Brenda Hoffman and husband Terry; Sheree Perez and husband Jose; 23 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Rosa, her husband Dee in 2000, her son Rodney, one brother Thurman, three sisters, Esther, Agnes and Viola and a daughter-in-law Phyllis.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
