Lova Hilbig, 97 year old formerly of Mooreland and current resident of Wichita, Kansas died Sunday, March 20, 2016 in Wichita. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward with the Reverend Larry Massoner officiating. Interment will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery.
Lova June (Taylor) Hilbig, was born on June 4, 1918 near Mooreland, Oklahoma the daughter of Robert J. and Hattie E. (Robinson) Taylor. Lova was married to Marion Hilbig in 1935. She lived most of her life in Liberal, Kansas where she taught Sunday School and children’s church for 30 years.
Lova lived her last eight years at the Lifecare Center in Wichita, Kansas where she cherished everyone and appreciated their exceptional care. She loved visiting and was a master at crocheting. Her greatest blessing was her family.
Lova leaves behind her son, Marion Edward “Ed” Hilbig of Salina, Kansas; son-in-law, Stuart Lower and wife Twanda of Guymon; granddaughters, Teri Troutt and husband Randy of Wichita, KS; Kari Coles and husband Brandon of Sanger, CA; grandsons, Greg Lower and wife Teri of Hutchinson, KS; Vaughn Lower and wife Sharon of Sublette, KS; Brent Hilbig and wife Deena of Salina, KS; Brandon Hilbig of Fresno, CA; and many great grandchildren, relatives, and friends. She was adored by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Marion and daughter, Suellen Lower formerly of Sublette, KS; sister, Ethel Elwood formerly of Liberal, KS; one brother, Roy Taylor formerly of Mooreland.
