Leslie Highfill, age 59, was found dead in an outbuilding at his home on a farm northwest of Mooreland Sunday morning. Death was the result of a shotgun wound, which officers report was apparently self inflicted.
Hihgfill had been in poor health for a number of years. His illness took the form of despondency in the past few weeks. He is survived by hiw wife, Mable; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Cogmann, Yakima, Wn.p his father, B. A. Highfill, Woodward; five step-sons, Leon Starr, Pierre, S. D.; Buck Starr of Curtis; Warren Starr in the Navy; Theo Starr of Freedom; and Leo Starr of the home; and three sisters and four brothers.
Funeral services will be held today (Thursday) at 3:00 p.m. in the Mooreland Methodist church with Rev. H. E. Gatti, officiating. Burial will be made in Mooreland Cemetery under the direction of Knittel Funearl Home.
