Ethel Mae Highfill, 71 year old Mooreland resident, passed away on Dec. 14, 1969 from an apparent heart attack.

Ethel was born on March 16, 1898 in Eskridge, Kanses. She was the daughter of H. W. and Jane {Worley} Davis. Prior to moving to Mooreland, she lived in Sawyer, KS and Cairo, KS. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mooreland.

She was united in marriage to James Harry Highfill on 0ct 6, 1926 in Woodward, OK. To this union were born Doris, James, Deane and Harold.

She is survived by her husband, Harry, of the home; sons Harry Deane and wife Evelyn of Wichita, KS; James Alvin and wife Kathryn of Woodward; and Rev. Harold Gordon and wife Evelyn of Wichita Falls, TX; by one daughter Doris Evelyn Maupin and husband Wayne: Sisters Ellen Pillips of Dennison, TX and Margaret Locke of Ft. Worth, TX.

Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Chruce in Mooreland on Wednesday, Dec 17, 1969. Burial was in the Mooreland Cemetery under the direction of Stecher Funeral Home.
