Ruth Hepner, 71 year old Woodward resident, passed away Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at her home in Woodward. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Todd Bergman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery.
Ruth Elaine (Hartzell) Hepner was born on March 27, 1947 in Mooreland, Oklahoma to Roy and Evelyn Irene (Krober) Hartzell. At a young age, Ruth moved with her family to Sharon, Oklahoma. She attended Mutual High School and went to the Job Corps in Albuquerque, New Mexico to become a Nurses Aide. Ruth worked at Northwest Community Hospital and Grace Living Center.
She was united in marriage to Marvin Hepner on May 17, 1969 at the Free Methodist Church. They made their first home in Mooreland before moving to Woodward. They were blessed with one daughter Marlene Elaine Hepner.
Ruth enjoyed bowling and knitting and loved being with her family, especially her daughter Marlene.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Marvin Hepner of the home; one daughter Marlene Hepner of Woodward; brother and sisters: Wayne Hartzell of Burlington, Iowa, Bonnie Hartzell of Midwest City, Joyce (Hartzell) Simpson and brother-in-law, Lael Simpson of Fort Worth, Texas; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Rita Maddux and husband Elmer, Travis Hepner; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Curtis Hartzell and Leon Hartzell.
