Woodward, Okla. — Elva Hain, 79 year old Mooreland resident, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel in Woodward with the Reverend Beau Hague officiating. Burial will be in the Mooreland Cemetery under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Elva Olivia (Smith) Hain was born May 18, 1932 in a farm house six miles north of Mooreland; she was the daughter of Edwin Andrew and Myrle Aneges (Yount) Smith. She grew up in Mooreland, attended Mooreland schools, graduating from Mooreland High School in 1950. She was married to Ronald W. Hain in Oklahoma City. They made their home in Oklahoma City. Elva moved to Mooreland following the death of her husband. She worked at Tinker Air Force Base Credit Union, working until she retired. She also worked at John A. Brown in Oklahoma City. After moving back to Mooreland, Elva worked at Buxton’s Collection Agency and Stock Exchange Bank until she retired again.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mooreland. Elva enjoyed teaching Sunday School and other church activities. Elva was a hard working employee. She enjoyed her dog Missy and her great great great niece, Baby Alyssa.
She is survived by one sister, Carrie Jane Highfill; two brothers, Harold Yount Smith; Ormal F. Clark Jr. and wife Olsia; three nephews and their wives, Charley and Sharon Highfill; Dwight and Elaine Highfill; Ira and Cathy Smith; two nieces and their husbands, Cindy and Joe Fields, Debbie and Kenny Rounds; numerous great nieces, nephews other family and friends.
Elva was preceded in death by her mom, dad, husband; niece Myrna Nickelson, and brother-in-law Pete Highfill.
