Ed Fussell, 87 year old Mooreland resident, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 in Woodward. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 15, 2021 at the Mooreland Cemetery. Burial will follow with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Military rites will be conducted by the United States Army.
Edward Thurlow Fussell was born on February 5, 1934 five miles north of Curtis, Oklahoma to William Joseph and Elsie Neoma (Akers) Fussell. He grew up in Curtis, Norman, Mooreland, Alva, and Strong City, Kansas. Ed was inducted into the United States Army in 1956. He served his country in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1956. Ed worked in the oil field for Big Chief Drilling Company from 1953 until 1962. He owned his own dump truck from 1962 until 1966. He worked for Borden Milk from 1966 until 1973 and Knittel Furniture Store from 1973 until 1974. Ed started working for the Mooreland Public Schools in 1974 and continued working there until his retirement in 1999.
He was united in marriage to Marilyn (Lehr) Enterline on November 23, 1983 in Mooreland, Oklahoma. They made their home in Mooreland and have lived there since that time.
Ed was Baptized in the Methodist Church in Strong City, Kansas in 1953. He enjoyed raising Purple Martins, rock hunting, antique hunting, creating a rustic back yard, and traveling with Marilyn. He loved his kids and grandkids and loved watching them in their sports while they were growing up.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn Fussell of the home; one daughter, Daun Fussell-Wilkerson of Yukon; two sons: Scott Fussell of Yukon, Stacey Enterline and wife Laura of Mansfield, Texas; son-in-law, Stan Ansley of Woodward; grandchildren: Kinzie Wilkerson, Eric Wilkerson, Lauryn Spray and husband Brett, Trey Enterline, Rhett Enterline, Lauren Lawton, Lauri Enterline; other relatives and many friends.
