Shirley Jean Donley

January 4, 1948 ~ January 2, 2021


Shirley Donley, 72 year old Mooreland resident, and beloved wife of Gary Donley for almost 46 years, passed Saturday, January 2, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery.

Shirley Jean (Harding) Donley was born on January 4, 1948 in Pratt, Kansas the daughter of Melvin Ray and Velva June (McIntosh) Harding. Shirley grew up in Havland, Kansas where she attended grade school and junior high and high school in Greensburg, Kansas. Shirley was united in marriage to Gary Matt Donley on July 17, 1975 in Dodge City, Kansas. They made their home in Woodward and moved to Mooreland in February of 1980. Shirley worked outside of the home briefly, but was mainly a stay at home mother raising her children.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother attending all of her kids activities, football, softball, basketball, baseball, stock shows, soccer, and school programs whatever her kids were doing she was their supporting and cheering them. She also enjoyed car shows, camping, yard work, and dirt track racing.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Gary of the home; children, Dustin Donley and wife Sonya; Garrett Donley and wife Heather; Alisa Holloway and husband Jimmy; all of Mooreland; Troy Hadley and wife Anita of Winfield, Kansas; granddaughter that she raised as a daughter, Courtney Hadley and wife Tasha; 12 grandchildren, April; Megan; Sarah; Dakota; Brayden; Justyce; Kase; Clay; Dallas; Lane; and Tucker; eight great-grandchildren, Addisyn; Jacob; Annie; Ayda; Joel; Maesyn; Parker; and Victoria; sister-in-law, Vesta Harding and Judy Fletcher; brother-in-laws, Jim Fletcher and Gregg Donley; several nieces, nephews other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers.

In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Childrens Hospital with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
