The funeral for Marvin Duane Decker, 85, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Quinlan First United Methodist Church. Pastor Thomas Corrigan II will officiate. Burial will be in Mooreland Cemetery. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home LLC, Waynoka.
He was born Dec. 16, 1921, on a farm near Quinlan to Melvin Francis and Ida May Bradley Decker and died Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007, in Waynoka.
He attended school at Golden Belt, Silver Springs and Chimney Creek rural schools before attending Mooreland High School.
He married Mary Lou Willier Jan. 8, 1944, in Woodward. They lived on the farm for the past 60 years. He farmed. He also drove a school bus for Waynoka schools for 30 years and worked as a rural mail carrier for 17 years. He was a member of Quinlan First United Methodist Church, Waynoka Masonic Lodge 422 and Guthrie Scottish Rite Consistory. They also were members of the Okie Tumbleweeds Camping Club since 1979.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou, of Waynoka; two sons, Duane and Clay Decker, both of Waynoka; one daughter, Judy Dannar of Optima; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter and a sister.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Fairview Hospice Circle of Love.
