Woodward, Okla. — Karl W. Dauphin, 76 year old Woodward resident, died Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the Woodward Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2012 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jeff Ralston officiating. Burial will follow in the Mooreland Cemetery.

Karl Waite Dauphin was born on March 12, 1936 on the Trimble place in Quinlan, Oklahoma to William Otto and Christine May (Woods) Dauphin. He was reared in the Quinlan and Mooreland area and attended the Mooreland schools. Karl had to quit school at a young age to take care of his dad who was sick at the time. Karl was united in marriage to Norma Ogden in 1962 and they were blessed with one son, John Karl. Karl was an Equipment Operator for Woodward County for a number of years.

Karl was a member of the Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed hunting for gold, vacation trips to Arizona and watching football and the weather channel. Karl loved spending time with John, Kathy, Allison and his cat Marty. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Elks Lodge, and the Shriners.

He is survived by one son, John K. Dauphin and Kathy of Woodward; granddaughter, Allison Dauphin of Piedmont; step-children, Linda Crouch and husband Virgil and family; Duane Ogden and wife Bonnie and family; Barbara Monteilh and family; one brother Dwight Dauphin; two sisters, Janet Emmerson and husband Leverle, Mary D. Cain and husband Richard; special friend, Vonda Freeman of Arkansas; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Maxine Ubrick.
