Woodward, Okla. — Florice Edna (Lewis) Covalt was born December 1, 1912 in Mooreland; she was the daughter of Ellis and Zoe (Peace) Lewis. She grew up in Mooreland and attended Mooreland schools. On March 2, 1933, Edna was married to Paul Covalt in Harper County, Oklahoma. They made their home northwest of Mooreland and had lived in and around Mooreland all of their married life. Edna and Paul worked on the farm raising cattle and growing crops.
Edna has remained on the family farm, north of Mooreland, well past her 97 th. birthday, and turned 98 on December 1st., she took care of herself until just recently. She was looking forward to Christmas with her family.
Edna loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, knitting, quilting, canning, cooking, working word puzzles and hosting every holiday gathering.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Covalt; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren and son-in-law Jim Schnoebelen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, Vada Schnoebelen, two grandchildren, Gregory and Kent Schnoebelen and one great great grandchild, Addison Waddle.
