Funeral services for Letha Mae Coats, 54, Enid, will be Wednesday, March 7,2012 at 10:30 AM in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Dominick and Kenneth Bowling, officiating. Committal prayers and interment will be at 3:00 p.m. in the Mooreland Cemetery under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Letha was born on August 15,1957 in Shreveport, Louisiana, the daughter of Carl and Mavis Taylor Johnson, and passed away peacefully on Friday, March 2, 2012 at her daughter's home. She was raised in Louisiana. She married Leroy Heinrich, which ended in divorce but continued to be best friends. Letha then married Joseph Coats, whom preceded her in death on April 29,2006.
Letha moved to Enid in 1980 and was employed with Bios as a direct care staff member for several years. She also attended Bible Baptist Church.
Letha is survived by her father Carl, sons, Michael Dodson, Johnathan and wife Angie Hice; daughters, Laveda and husband J.P. West, Tina Poslick, and Theresa and husband Kris Bowling; Step son, Jake Heinrich and wife Misty; Grandchildren, Cylie Anglin Bolerjack, Harlie Ivey, Samaya and Sabriam Scott, Joshua, Alyssa, and Teagan Bowling, Ethan, Colt, Tyee and Adam West, Brock and Alyssa Dodson; Harmony and Joseph Garrett ; sisters, Elaine Wise, and Cynthia Mills; brothers, James and Zarl Johnson;Letha's best friend, RoseAnn Barnes.
Letha was preceded in death by her husbands Leroy and Joseph, mother Mavis Jean, one grandchild, Baby Austin, and brother James Dewayne.
Memorials may be made in Letha's memory to the Shaken Baby Syndrome Organization with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds .Condolences may be made to the family online at www.Brown-Cummings.com.
